Truscello’s Pizza, at 2025 Murrell Road, Rockledge,  is straightforward and no-frills. The menu includes regular and specialty pizzas, stromboli, calzones, a few salads, cold and hot subs, and sides such as chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, garlic knots and soup. The kids’ menu includes the unfortunately named “Kid Fingers” (yes, they’re made of chicken) and tater tots. The service was attentive and friendly, though a lot of people go for takeout here.

My companion and I split a huge Italian sub ($7.99, or add $1.99 to get chips and drink), which was fine (but my quest still continues for a great one). Then we got a white pie (16 inches for $11.99). It was lovingly made fresh in front of us and had a nice kick of garlic, generous dollops of ricotta cheese, olive oil, herbs, Parmesan and mozzarella. We added fresh tomatoes, making for a very nice pizza.
