Sometimes I crave what I call beach pizza — a big, thin, hot slice with salty-savory sauce and stringy cheese. Cibelli’s Pizza in Satellite Beach definitely fits the bill, with what it says is “not New York style, it’s New York Pizza.” It’s good stuff. And there’s a lunch special from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. that includes one of its huge slices and a soda for $4.25.

With my slice, I ordered a Caesar salad. It was a healthy portion for $5.25, with lots of green, crispy lettuce, crunchy croutons and a fair dressing. It’s also available with chicken.

White pizza is on the menu, too, and the pizzas can be ordered in sizes from 14 inches up to the giant 24-inch pie ($19.95 regular, $21.95 white).

Other choices include heroes, stromboli, calzones, wings, a meatball pocket or dinner and antipasto salad. To drink are Pepsi products, beer and wine, along with frosty, fruity concoctions. As a side or dessert, Cibelli’s bakes garlic, cinnamon or honey butter knots for $3.95.

Cibelli’s offers inexpensive food in a clean, simple setting. You order at the counter, and TVs play in the dining area; the tables are donned by checked vinyl tablecloths. Outside, colorful umbrellas brighten the patio, and plastic pink flamingoes are perched in the lawn by the road. And it’s across the street from the divine Da Kine Diego’s, in case someone in your party needs a burrito.

If you need a tasty slice of beach pizza, Cibelli’s can hook you up.
