Unassuming from the outside, this pizza restaurant in a small strip mall at 760 Barnes Blvd., also hides a handsome bar and a liquor store. In addition to pizza, the Baci menu includes a number of subs and salads, calzone and stromboli, bruschetta and other appetizers, and classic deli sandwiches.

One of my colleagues raves about the garlic knots and the red sauce, along with the homemade tiramisu. He ranks this among the best pizza in the county. A friend and I started with 10 wings ($8.99), opting for medium-hot sauce and blue cheese on the side. You can get them in various degrees of heat, or garlic-parmigiana. They were really good, but we saved room for pizza.

Essentially, we got a variation on the Baci Special (12 inches for $15.99), a white pizza with sun-dried tomatoes and spinach. On her half, my friend substituted black olives for the tomatoes. It was excellent, with a tasty crust, fresh and flavorful spinach, and sun-dried tomatoes adding just the right piquant punctuation.

If only I’d had room for dessert. Besides the tiramisu ($4.50), Baci offers Italian cheesecake ($4.50) and homemade cannoli ($4.99). But I’ll be back for the pizza.
