Meskerem is the kind of place that one might be hesitant to try, but once you have been, you will want to go back. Eating with your hands and the soda bread is customary. You can get silverware if you really need it, but at least try the traditional way once. I have sampled many of the dishes on the menu and enjoyed every one. Some of them are super spicy, so be sure to order carefully if spice is not your friend.
