Having just moved to Viera from the madness of the Ft Lauderdale area, my wife and I decided that the only thing we would miss about that place would be the fantastic local alehouse known as Packys Pub in Lighthouse Point, friendly staff, music, friendly locals and the food was to die for. The food was 'pub fayre' admittedly but tasty and plentiful none the less. We wondered if we would find anything to compare in this area. Thankfully and upon recommendation of a patron of the place via Facebook 'friends' we took a trip to the Pineda Inn. I am glad to say that although we have still to get to properly know the characters that seem to frequent the place, it seems that all the boxes have been well and truly ticked, and then some. Friendly staff, friendly locals, GREAT bar food (open turkey sandwich and gravy...oh man, dee-lish) a great layout, live music, football mad crowd and an awesome location make this our definite favourite. I particularly like the 'England football scarf' on the wall which made me feel that little bit more at home in this great country of yours! I think it is an older crowd that goes in there, not ancient but mature but on football day, all bets are off! I think the 'no smoking' policy in the bar is now in force (because of the bar food service I suspect) although there may be other areas that we have missed apart from the deck outside, where the smokers can enjoy a cough together. All in all, it's a lovely little boozer. Having said that, I've just convinced myself to get cleaned up and go down there for lunch again today!! Try it, you will NOT be disappointed. Happy hour 3-7 pm I think. C'mon my lovely American wife...bring your wallet!
