Food and drink:
Get slightly cheaper dinners — $11.95 — from 4¤to 7¤p.m. daily. The nightly dinner specials usually include pasta, fish, chicken and steak.

Most popular item on the menu: Conch Key Grille is proud of its clam chowder, which won the people’s choice award in the 24th annual Chowder Cook-off with a Twist in February. At $4.95, we hear it’s worth every penny.

Average price for an entree: Lunches start at $6.95, dinners start at $13.95. The Conche Key staff recommends the crab cake dinner.

Atmosphere: Conch Key Grille features a tiki bar, sports bar and a restaurant. Think of the 3 Cs: a calm, cool and casual when it comes to atmosphere. It’s a great place to unwind. Since it’s a restaurant and bar on the Indian River, we’re told many people come via Jetski, catamaran, kayak and other boats.

Crowd: On the night we went, Conch Key Grille and Tiki Bar was host to a group of all ages. There was an average-size crowd, but we’re told Friday nights generally are packed. Staffers blamed the on-and-off rain for the lack of partygoers. Those who did come out were upbeat, friendly and ready for the holiday weekend. Conch Key has an island style feel that is fun and relaxing, the perfect place to let loose.

Cover charge: Never

Smoking: Outside, tiki bar and sports bar only

Ages: All ages, kids menu, families welcome

Dress code: Anything goes, shirts and shoes required. A lot of people sport their bathing suits, wearing flip-flops.
