Little Orphan Annie turned gangster tough when Jay-Z rapped his “Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem)” over samples of the tune from the musical and movie “Annie.” It helped propel his “Vol. 2…Hard Knock Life” album to platinum, Grammy-winning status. And snagged him all kinds of other awards, too, including at that year's Billboard Music Awards (pictured).
