"Newsies" (1992)

Although he didn't make that many films as a young actor, Bale made a big impression in Disney's depression-era musical flop. He sang and danced his way into the hearts of swooning female fans who built a cult following around his work in this goofy but likable film, as well as his turn in the next year's jazz-dancin' Nazis drama "Swing Kids."
