New doc: Stars create musicals in 24 hours
The cast of 'One Night Stand' creates musicals in a 24-hour period.

I've had friends participate in the 48 Hour Film Project, and I'm always amazed by what they accomplish. Somehow, within the span of a weekend, they're able to write and shoot a movie on their own.

For those who prefer the live stage, a similar challenge asks participants to write, cast, compose and perform a musical within a 24-hour time frame. It sounds impossible, but it can be done - and the process has been captured in a new flick.

One Night Stand: Creating a Play in a Day follows a bunch of talented folks as they create their own musicals. The cast includes Modern Family's Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Rachel Dratch, Nellie McKay and Cheyenne Jackson, along with several Broadway vets.

Here's a peek at how the stars take something "from blank page to live stage" in the blink of an eye:

Wanna see it? One Night Stand will screen for one night only on Wednesday (how fitting). Go here to see a list of theaters and buy tickets.
