Two cheers for Kirstie Alley's new TV Land comedy! That is, two Cheers stars, Alley and Rhea Perlman, will be part of Kirstie's New Show, a 12-episode sitcom that will premiere in the fall. (It was originally titled Giant Baby.)
Joining them will be a veteran of another TV classic, Seinfeld's Michael Richards. Eric Petersen (Shrek: The Musical) rounds out the cast.
The Emmy-winning Alley will play Broadway star Madison "Maddie" Banks, whose life goes topsy-turvy when Arlo (Petersen), the son she gave up after birth, shows up after his adoptive parents have died. The nerdy Arlo doesn't fit Maddie's lavish lifestyle, but her assistant and best friend, Thelma (Perlman), and driver, Frank (Richards), persuade her to give the young man a chance.
"The cast is a TV Land dream team of stars. Seeing them all together is truly mind blowing," TV Land president Larry W. Jones says in a statement.
