Invite someone special to enjoy fresh seafood such as the Broiled Lobster Tail or the spicy Ahi Tuna Arrabbiata. The wine list is extensive and complements the cuisine, and the atmosphere is sleek and modern, clearly designed with adults in mind. You can find shrimp, salmon, mahi mahi and tuna on the menu every day. Daily specials usually consist of a ravioli-, risotto-, steak- and pasta of the day. Outside dining is available. Atlantic Ocean Grille

Bonefish Willy's Riverfront Grille

The house specialty is the snook bruschetta, but Bonefish Willy's also offers a variety of entree choices including chicken, steak and pork. All the sauces and salad dressings are homemade, and the view from the outdoor deck is spectacular. Bonefish Willy's hosts live bands on Friday and Saturday nights. Happy hour is from 4 to 7 p.m. weekdays. Get $2 Bud and Bud Light drafts, $1 off house wines. Most popular item on the menu? Brasas Grill Brazilian Steakhouse
109 Brevard Ave. - CocoaBrasas Grill is a Brazilian steakhouse offering buffet lunches ($6.99 per pound) and dinners for $24.95 per person, offering nine different types of meats. The cozy restaurant, which has indoor and a couple outside tables, offers several salads and wraps, soups, veggie options and more. The intimate atmosphere and interesting menu make Cedar's a nice choice for date night. We recommend the garlic chicken and the lamb skewers. Aim for sunset, so you can experience the nice light on the Indian River Lagoon. The restaurant gives you the sense of being in very good hands, with attentive service and delightful food. Concepts on Highland
1437 Highland Ave. - MelbourneWe'd wondered what the "concept" was at Concepts, but it's best not to overthink it. It's to serve very good food, meticulously prepared with love. Concepts on Highland is casually upscale. The restaurant is available for catering and private parties. Ask about sitting in the old bank vault. Salads and most lunch entrees are under $9. Dinners range in price from $16 to $25.
Continental Flambe Restaurant
936 E. New Haven Ave. - MelbourneContinental Flambe's menu includes a lot of traditional French dishes, but they are prepared in a much lighter way without the heavy sauces. Some of the most popular menu items are the Lobster Crepes and the Shrimp and Parmesan-coated Mahi-Mahi. The experienced wait staff can help you choose a wine from the extensive list to complement your meal. The menu is a fixed-price format -- salad and entree for $23.95; or appetizer, salad, entree and dessert for $27.95. The restaurant also offers an a la carte lunch menu. Chameleon Fusion Bistro
4990 Stack Blvd. - MelbourneChameleon Fusion Bistro features a sleek sushi bar and expansive European-inspired dining room, as well as a smart outdoor patio for people-watching. Chameleon is known for its hot granite rissoto bowl -- only available for dinner. It comes in seafood, chicken, beef or vegetarian. The tiki bar and tapas bar is open. The price ranges from $17.95 to $22.75. Happy hour is all day every day, get drafts and wells at a discounted price. Get $1 domestic draft beers from 5 to8 p.m. Monday through Thursday in the tiki bar. Signature sushi roll? The golden California is popular. It's a California roll with tempura. Ladies night on Thursdays starts at 5 p.m. Women can get a margarita, strawberry daquiri, cosmopolitan, house mojito and house wines. Look for sake-tinis and vodka shots at discounted prices. Items on the menu range from $16 to $25. Also, Chameleon Fusion Bistro's lychee sakitini won best martini in Melbourne in the 2009 Metromix-sponsored "Martinis and Mistletoe" event. The restaurants recently opened an outdoor area called Tabu - Tapas and Tiki Bar. Tabu has the same hours and menu as Chameleon, although there is an emphasis on tapas - light Spanish dishes - and tropical drinks. There is seating for about 50 people outdoors.
Black Tulip Restaurant
207 Brevard Ave. - CocoaThe Black Tulip Restaurant, a longtime resident of Cocoa Village, has become a staple for fine-dining in Brevard County. Try any of the restaurant's delicious international entrees, but don't forget to save room for dessert. We recommend the Flan. Items on the menu range from $16 to $25.
Cafe Margaux
220 Brevard Ave. - CocoaCafe Margaux features terrific food and impeccable service. Want to impress a date or the in-laws? This is the place to go. Try the melange of fresh fish for a sampling of the day's catch, or try the Filet Oscar or Chicken Margaux. If you save room, chocolate pate makes for an excellent dessert. The wine list is top-notch, and so are the martinis. On a nice night, sit outside in the courtyard and enjoy people-watching in Cocoa Village.
City Tropics Bistro
249 Fifth Ave. - IndialanticCity Tropics Bistro is a fine dining restaurant and bar where you're sure to find Brevard's beautiful people. Specialty dishes include brick oven pizzas, fresh seafood and sushi, all with a Caribbean twist. Service is great, and at night, glass doors slide back to make room for an indoor-outdoor tropical feel. A variety of bands perform on weekends. We recommend the City Tropics Roll if you like sushi or the chicken skewers appetizer for starters. City Tropics has an extensive menu for food and martinis. Items on the menu are $9 to $15.
Djon's Steak & Lobster House
522 Ocean Ave. - Melbourne BeachDjon's Steak and Lobster House offers classic fine dining plus a piano bar. Great steaks, lamb chops, veal chops and seafood lead an eclectic and interesting array of house specialties. Djon's piano bar attracts a crowd every night but Sunday, and a jazz and contemporary trio performs from 8 to midnight Fridays and Saturdays. Happy hour is from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday in the lounge, with half-price wines and well liquors.
Fujiyama Japanese Seafood and Steak
5000 N. Wickham Road, Suite 111 - MelbourneSleek Fujiyama welcomes you with marble floors, a 400-gallon saltwater aquarium, custom-created stained glass and the always fun-to-watch spectacle of the hibachi grills. First-timers can begin with Beef Negimaki, proceed to avocado salad and settle in with Fujiyama's monster roll. If you want to liven it up, try the restaurant's Emperor Deluxe dish, which includes filet mignon, lobster tail, shrimp and scallops. Items on the menu range from $16 to $25.
Gregory's Steak and Seafood Restaurant
900 N. Atlantic Ave. - Cocoa BeachCome enjoy the upscale atmosphere, featuring the finest beef and the freshest local and northern seafood. Famous for their Lobsteraki appetizer and their Teriyaki Top entree. Also, Thursday night is comedy night in the upstairs banquet room.
Izzy's Bistro
6615 N. Atlantic Ave. - Cape CanaveralUnder the same ownership as Gregory's Steak and Seafood Grille in Cocoa Beach, Izzy's Bistro in Cape Canaveral offers fine-dining on the beachside. A house favorite is lobster pot pie, a sinful dish of lobster morsels, baby veggies and mornay sauce framed by a puffed pastry. While German and seafood dishes reign, Izzy's also features a variety of eclectic international entrees. And if you get the chance, say hello to Maddie, an osprey that perches on a tree in the evenings outside the eatery.
Jack Baker's Lobster Shanty
2200 S. Orlando Ave. - Cocoa BeachEnjoy spectacular riverfront sunsets as you dine on Maine lobster and rock shrimp. If you sit outdoors, you may just see some dolphins and manatees, and you can feed the catfish that make their home by the dock. This all-occasion restaurant is ideal for large parties and family get-togethers, as well as quiet dinners for two.
The Melting Pot
2230 Town Center Ave., Suite 101 - VieraAt the Melting Pot, fondue becomes a memorable four-course dining experience where you can dip in to something different. The restaurant features a relaxed atmosphere, private tables, attentive service, fine wines and signature fondue dinners. Try the lobster tails, filet mignon, shrimp, scallops, chicken and more. The Melting Pot doesn't skimp on the dessert offerings either. Share chocolate and strawberries, chocolate and marshmallows, chocolate and (you get the idea ...) with that special someone. The fine-dining restaurant also features ladies night every Monday. We hear the Melting Pot has everything from private two-tops aka "lovers lane" to 16-tops for parties, which are complete with audio and visual (perfect for presentations and unique slideshows). Items on the menu are $16 to $25.
Scott's on Fifth
141 Fifth Ave. - IndialanticThis cozy little fine-dining gem is just a few blocks from the beach. Scott's on Fifth is the place to go if you're in the mood for American Continental dishes or if you're on a date. Some of the items on Scott's menu includes a Tuscan ribeye, salmon, lobster ravioli, escargot, decadent shrimp cocktail and more. Save room for dessert, too. It's a fancy restaurant with only 12 tables, so reservations are strongly recommended. Crab bisque is strongly recommended, too. Scott's now has martinis and cocktails on its menu. Items on the menu range from $26 to $30. Voters chose Scott's on Fifth as best restaurant in our Best of Metromix contest for 2010 and 2011. Fun fact: If you go to Scott's website, you can see him cooking on his webcam. Another fun fact, Scott has a YouTube channel with quirky restaurant how-to videos.
Ulysses' Prime Steakhouse
234 Brevard Ave. - CocoaUlysses' Prime Steakhouse, the sister restaurant of Cafe Margaux, is an upscale steakhouse located in historic Cocoa Village. Ulysses' Prime Steakhouse caters to those seeking first-class service and selection. Ulysses' is pricey, but prides itself on serving only USDA prime beef. For steak lovers, it's worth the price. Items on the menu are $31 and up.
Yellow Dog Cafe
905 U.S. 1 - MalabarMalabar has gone to the dogs, at least the yellow kind of canines, with Yellow Dog Cafe. Mix killer views of the Indian River with classy continental entrees. Add an expansive outdoor bar, and you've got Yellow Dog Cafe. The Cafe is anything but a dog. A combination of casual elegance, phenomenal views and outstanding cuisine make the Dog one pooch you want to keep. Prices range from $16 to $25.
