High-altitude partying with Mario Batali, Angelo Sosa, Andrew Zimmern and more
The annual Food and Wine Classic in Aspen is sorta like summer camp for celebrity chefs, media and food fans alike. Thousands converge on the sleepy Colorado resort town to attend seminars, cooking competitions, grand tastings and plenty of Kabinet-fueled parties. So yes, think summer camp, with more foie gras torchon and German Riesling than roasted marshmallows.
With help from our cool friends at FIJI Water, we hit town for the weekend to take in the tastes and high-altitude partying, including the opening bash, Wines of Spain barbecue with Jose Andres, and the Food and Wine Best New Chefs gala. We also caught up with some of major celebrity cheffage, including Mario Batali, Marcus Samuelsson, John Besh and Andrew Zimmern. —Matt Rodbard
