The fifth incarnation of the Self Preservation Society’s “A Bit Sketchy,” a raucous, irreverent, risqué, madcap creation by Brevard’s favorite theater community Brit, Adrian Cahill, comes to life at Melbourne Civic Theatre Friday for a two-week run. This time, it’s dubbed “A Bit Sketchy: The Naughty Bits.”

As is the tradition, proceeds will go to a worthy cause. This time it’s MCT as some of the area’s most popular actors volunteer time and talents.  “Well, obviously, Peg’s (director Peg Girard) moved there and it’s become more like home again,” Cahill said. “With Peg there, everyone’s gravitating toward it. We want a place to work. We obviously want to give it a boost.” Cahill said the material is “all new ... really funny stuff.”

The show consists of a number of sketches interspersed with a few videos. Previous “Sketchy” shows have included brief nudity and strong language. Cahill said this show doesn’t have nudity, but does have strong language and sexual references to, well, “naughty bits.”

The first “A Bit Sketchy” was in 2002 as a fundraiser for the old Phoenix Theatre. It was followed by “A Bit 2 Sketchy” and “Son of a Bit Sketchy.” Last year, “Flamin’ Sketchy” was at the Henegar to help victims of the Palm Bay fires of 2008.
